April Update: Community Spirit, Heavy Lifting, and a Reliable Scania for Sale
April was a whirlwind of activity for the team here at KAS Crane Hire. While our entire fleet of cranes and Hiabs has been busy criss-crossing the Southwest, we’ve also had the pleasure of supporting some fantastic local causes and saying a fond farewell to a key member of our vehicle family.
Here is a look back at what we’ve been up to this month.
Supporting the Torrington Cavaliers
One of the highlights of our month was heading over to Great Torrington to assist the legendary Torrington Cavaliers. We helped with their “pole erection” day—a crucial step in creating the skeleton for one of their famous builds.
It was a brilliant day working alongside the Cavalier team, Plan A Scaffolding, and Gregory’s Distribution. Our own Andrew was on-site to ensure those structural poles were positioned with precision. It’s always rewarding to see our lifting expertise put to use for local traditions that bring the community together.

Community & Sport: Barnstaple Youth FC
We are proud to continue our sponsorship of Barnstaple Youth FC. This month, the club gave us a lovely shout-out on Facebook, highlighting how local business support helps provide children with access to grassroots sports. We believe it is vital to invest in the next generation here in North Devon, and we’re chuffed to see the teams doing so well.

Catching up on March
We didn’t get a chance to mention a few stand-out projects from late March in our last update, so we wanted to share them now:
Precision Lifting for Winston James Construction
We recently assisted Winston James Construction with a delicate job, installing a stunning glass floor. Working on high-end residential or commercial builds requires a steady hand and the right equipment. Our hiab lorry loaders are perfect for these types of tasks where space is tight but precision is everything.
Feedback from the Field
We also received some great feedback from Ethan Coyne, who had this to say about his experience with us:
“Great experience. Paddy from KAS Cranes was on top form—helpful and skilful on the hiab.”
Knowing our qualified operators are making life easier for our clients on-site is what it’s all about.
Looking Ahead
Whether it’s a contract lift for a large construction site or machinery removal and installation for a local factory, the KAS team is ready for a busy May.
