February 2026 Update
February has been a productive month for the team here at KAS Crane and Hiab Hire. Despite the typical Southwest winter weather occasionally testing us, we’ve been out across Devon and Somerset supporting some fantastic local businesses with their lifting requirements.
From precision residential work in North Devon to specialist haulage on the coast, here is a look at what we’ve been up to over the last few weeks.
New Build Support in Goodleigh with Wedgewood Building Ltd
We recently headed over to the village of Goodleigh, just outside Barnstaple, to assist our long-standing customers, Wedgewood Building Ltd.
Lifting on residential sites often requires a careful balance of power and precision, especially when navigating limited access or established neighbourhoods. For this particular new build project, we deployed our 40-tonne Liebherr crane. This machine is a real workhorse for residential construction, offering the reach needed for timber frame kits and roof trusses while maintaining a compact footprint.
Our qualified operators worked closely with the Wedgewood team to ensure every lift was executed safely and on schedule, keeping the build moving forward during a busy week.
Coastal Logistics at Woolacombe Esplanade
Over on the coast, we were tasked with a more specialist transport and lifting job at the Woolacombe Esplanade. Working alongside Steel Fabrications (Martock) Ltd, we were responsible for moving and positioning significant steel components as part of an ongoing project in this iconic North Devon location.
For this job, we utilised our 110t Hiab. While many people think of us only for our mobile crane hire, our Hiab and lorry loader service is often the perfect solution for jobs that require both heavy lifting and haulage in a single package. The 110t Hiab provided the muscle needed to handle the steel fabrications with ease, even in the breezy conditions of the Woolacombe seafront.
